I paint the fight between what holds and what moves.
I was born in Kullu, in the Indian Himalayas, and trained as a painter in Paris. I work between the two, and the distance shows in the work.
The paintings hold one tension: the fixed against the flowing. Mountain against river, ground against sky. Raw pours, stains and metal leaf break across rigid lines, coloured by the weather of the day I made them.
Some works are made in Kullu, some in Paris. Each is one of one.
